3rd post-locals breakfast

Kaya toast is a popular snack amongst Singaporeans as kaya is a local favourite spread eaten on not just toast, but fresh bread and cream crackers. Kaya is made of eggs, sugar and coconut milk and flavored with pandan.
Essentially, kaya and usually butter or margarine are spread on two pieces of preferably toasted bread although any untoasted bread can be used and ready to serve. Alternatively, the Kaya jam and butter or margarine can be spread on the same slice of bread.

Singaporeans like to consume this food with a cup of tea or coffee. Ya Kun Kaya Toast in Singapore is one of the several franchises which have made this snack more than just a breakfast item, given the proliferation of its outlets in recent times. Coffeeshops usually sell this snack as well.......

marcus:I personally often patronise Ya kun Kaya toast and i think that the bread there was really good. Its crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy in the inside. The kaya spread was good too, not too sweet and not too oily.
Another nice breakfast-set in ya kun is the half-boiled egg. They cooked it very well, not too cooked but also not so raw till u are afraid of eating it.
I would strongly recommend tourist to visit this shop for a breakfast so they would know and taste it for themselves for how good is toast in Singapore!!!
